If there is water on the floor the possible causes...
1. The sunroof drains are flogged 99%, if it has a sunroof. Check for wetness, staining on the headliner. If it had body work, they might have not properly hooked the drains backup... happened on my sister's car.
2. If (No sunroof) and the water is in the passenger foot well, and you have had the A/C, defrost running. It could be a clogged evaporator case drain. There maybe an odor also, due to mold growing in the case. Evaporator case drains are about 1/2 and can be seen from under the car. Some route it near the transmission tunnel.
#. If it was in an accident, I've had cars where the windshield wasn't installed properly and water would run down the firewall/behind the dash.
Best way to check if you don't find the headliner wet, would be to have someone spray the car with a hose while you sit in it. You can feel around check for drips.

∙ 9y agoIf it is water, check the ac condensation drain. It may be plugged. If it is coolant, the heater core may be leaking.
