The Bentley manual has wiring diagrams, and everything else about your vanagon, in great detail. If you go around the web asking for a wiring diagram, everyone will just tell you to buy a Bentley. If you ask for help with a wiring problem, they will ask you if you checked the Bentley, and if you don't have one, why not?
I'm not selling them or anything :). Just Google for Benley manual or Bentley service manual and "Vanagon" and you will find them. They are not cheap, but at least you get a very thorough explanation of the correct diagnostic and repair procedures for many, many things on your nearly-a-quarter-century-old vehicle.
