While many State Bar Associations have a "pro bono" service, you should know that, just by asking what you are, that Bankruptcy is MUCH, MUCH more than filing papers. The results are uncertain at best, and considering the creditors will have attornies, it is unlikely the result you get will be the best, and I'm guessing probably not at all what you expect, doing it yourself. More likely the case will be dismissed due to some failure of yours to follow procedure, or you will lose much more than is needed, or NOT get released from things that you should. Of course much of the information you submit is done under oath to the court...and not doing so correctly is something judges really don't like..(even if you thought it was what was meant)...and may be pursued as fraud. To start...bankruptcy is always under federal law in the Federal Bankruptcy Court...a special division of courts, for your district. There may be some elections to make about certain possible special State exemptions the court will allow...but no one other than an attorney can practice law and specifically advise you on what is best for you....and of course how to make it happen.
No. It is just a commitment to get married. Filling out papers only happens for marriage.
