Contacting Remington would be a long shot, and it probably wouldn't tell you much about the rifle's history, since it was a military weapon. What you have is probably a P14, manufactured under contract for the British during WWI.
RW is Remington Works, not part of the serial no. 1912.
First year production 1912.
Big year of production ~31,500 - ~71,500
the serial number is not a remington rand serial number. it is a colt commercial 1911. you have a rem-rand slide on a colt frame. sorry.
A waffenfabrik neuhausen bayonet serial number 108861 is worth approximately 300 USD.
Are you sure it's an auto and not a pump action, it sounds like the predecessor to the Remington Model 10.
Your remington model 700 which has a letter A prefix to the serial number, indicates that it was made in 1980.
Post a serial or call Remington.
I don't believe the Remington 512, 511 or 510 have serial numbers
