The SL series came equiped with either a single overhead cam or a dual overhead cam engine.
If yours has the single overhead cam, it's the SL1. If yours has the dual overhead cam, it's the SL2.
Open the hood, look at the engine and see what's on the rocker cover; if it says DOHC or "Twin Cam", you are the proud owner of a SL2.
1.9L SOHC in the SL1, The SL2 has a 1.9L DOHC. I Get 38mpg from mine.
The 95 Saturn SL1 does it too.
what is the engine diagnostic trouble code # 32
My son's 1999 Salvaged/total Saturn SL1 was rebuilt using many engine and body parts from 1995-1999 Saturn SL1 and SL2 cars, I believe it will work fine. I do not recommend before 1995 or 2000 or later models. I do not recommend SL2 either. I am not the expert but most of my son's engine is not 1999 SL1. Good luck!
I would think they would. SL1 vs SL2 I thought was SOHC vs DOHC for an engine.
How do you install 2002 saturn sl2 4 cyl
Yes it will.
yes. odometer and speedometer will be off though because of the different circumferences ummm those are 15 inch wheels
It would, if you changed out the trans and the ecm/tcm. The SL2 SC2 transmissions have a different higher reving gear ratio.

I drove my 1995 Saturn sl2 until it had 263,000 miles on it. At that time, the transmission started to slip. I then gave it to a friend, to buy a newer Saturn sl1.
Mine does
