If you are interested to find a MAC address this one depends on the type of network device. MAC Address in Windows 95,98,me

can be display with winipcfg utility.but in xp Ipconfig.exe is used. This utility provides diagnostic information related to TCP/IP

network configuration. Both 'winipcfg' and 'ipconfig' may display multiple MAC addresses .

If you are interested to find a MAC address in Unix and Linux in the boot message sequence. These operating systems display the

computer's MAC address on-screen as the system reboots. Additionally, boot-up messages are retained in a log file (usually

"/var/log/messages" or "/var/adm/messages").

If you are interested to find a MAC address on the Macintosh with TCP/IP Control Panel. If the system is running Open Transport,

the MAC address seen under the "Info" or "User Mode/Advanced" screens. If the system is running MacTCP, the MAC address

appears under the "Ethernet" icon.

What will happen if you enable both wireless and lan connection?

They will both work. I would imagine the interrupt levels will determine which one will intercept the traffic from a request first. i.e browser, explorer, ping Any request made through one adapter will receive back to the same adapter. That is to say - if you make a browser request to the internet and it goes out on the wired adapter, it will come back to that same adapter. The end-to-end addressing is in the message traffic, and whatever adapter address (MAC address) is passed outbound will be in the addressing in the incoming message, and consequently go to that (MAC) address. I would think if the wired adapter is busy and you made a request, the request would be honored by the wireless adapter, and the answer would come back to that adapter. I believe it would also look to be simultaneous, even though that is a tricky concept, considering it's all serial to and through the modem/gateway.

Which feature that you configured on the Linksys WRT300N makes you feel the most secure and why?

MAC address filtering uses the MAC address to identify which devices are allowed to connect to the wireless network. When a wireless client attempts to connect, or associate, with an AP it will send MAC address information. If MAC filtering is enabled, the wireless router or AP will look up its MAC address a preconfigured list. Only devices whose MAC addresses have been prerecorded in the router's database will be allowed to connect.
