Well... mines doing the same thing. 88 sedan deville, 4.5 ltr v8. It turns over but I watch and nothing is coming through the injectors... no fuel. It happens off and on, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think it might be the fuel filter but i can't find that thing.
It is most likely the fuel relay, which is located in the fuse box under the hood.If not itcould be a number of simple things : the car needs a tune up, the fuel pump, even check and make sure it is getting air. All of these are a good idea to check out!
A 1994 Cadillac Deville that has an engine surging problem and is stalling out can indicate it is not getting enough fuel. The fuel filter may be clogged.
Quit trying to start my Ford Ranger! Is your Ranger cranking slow (low battery), not cranking (dead battery, bad starter), cranking good but not getting gas (clogs, no gas in tank, bad fuel pump), not getting spark (plugs, wires, coil), or what?
First you need to give a little more info. Will engine crank or not, is engine getting fuel.
Is it getting gas? Spark? Did you pump the gas pedal while you were starting/cranking the motor?
Most likely it is the front axle joint
Is this a Northstar 4.6? if so.....I have never found a petcock on one. There is a threaded plug on drivers side at bottom.....good luck getting to it while in car.
Is your battery getting weak ?
It tells you how much gas you have left and app. what gas mileage you are getting. ALSO If you hold down the leftmost and rightmost button at the same time, the Cadillac will tell you it's engine oil life in percentage form!
It is related to a ride control problem. The cars computer is going to limit your speed to 90 mph due to a malfunction in the ride control system.
Possibly the fuel pump is overheating and shutting down, or the fuel pressure regulator is the problem.
You probably don't have compression in one or both of your rotors. Perform a compression test to verify.
If your car won't start every time it rains, water may be shorting out wires or it may be getting into the fuel system. Both will prevent the engine from cranking or starting.
The main window fuse could be bad. Or, the power window relay could be bad. The most common problem is a wiring problem (loose connection, broken wire) keeping the system from getting power.
I have an 03 deville and found my blower motor under the dash on the passenger side. It was intermiitant so I took it out and cleaned it. Works fine but I am planning on getting a new one as the brushes are close to worn out. I would advise you do the same
If your car is cranking fast, but not starting it is either fuel or fire, so check the plugs to make shure they are getting spark, if they are it is probully the fuel pump or filter.
02 cadillac deville wont crank or start the entire dashboard illuminates and everything work when the switch is on seems like it wants to crank but doesnt. I had a problem for years with my 1991 Caddy and kept changing starters for a while. My problem was that I wasn't getting a good read on the security chip in the key. Next time it happens: turn it off, take the key out, wait at least three minutes and try again. Check your manual to see if that is still the procedure. By the way I decided to live with it. Every start is a roll of the dice.
You might have 2 problems. 1) The radios are VIN specific and so to get it unlocked you have to go to the dealer and have them program your VIN in the replacement radio, could be $10 to $75 depending on your dealer. 2) If you are trying to put a CD/Cass. in where there was just a plain cassette, it won't work anyway, the cassette player is internally amped, the CD/Cass. has an external amp, so if that is your situation, don't waste your money getting it unlocked.
you are getting to much fuel past your needle and seat.
My 1991 cadillac fleetwood gets 17.5 to 18 mpg on average. Atleast that's what my car tells me it's getting.
By belt i assume you're talking about alternator belt. This has nothing to with initial starting or cranking the engine. Check for full battery charge first, and make sure engine is cranking at proper speed. If so, you may not be getting a spark or a fuel problem exist, such as fuel pump. Can also mean bad wires or crack in distributor cap (especially if it occurs on damp days).
Simple your not getting spark from the spark plugs. i recomend getting someone that knows how to check for spark because there is a lot of items you have to check.
1 of a 100 but the 1st to check . BAD THERMOSTAT
