it is down by the brake pedal on a metal box
You can not change the master code yourseft. Only the dealer can.
The factory-set code is located: I have a 2005 ST my code was on the keyless module behind the passenger side air bag. go to www.mysporttrac.com and it will tell u how to find it.
Look to the right of the steering column under the dash. I think the remote keyless entry is here & not sure if it's different from keyless entry.I'm not exactly sure if the computer that controls the keyless entry is what they're looking for - OR - the location of the factory set code for that vehicle.See "Related Questions" below for the location of the code
In a 1998 Ford Explorer : The RAP module ( Remote Anti-theft Personality module ) is used with your anti-theft system and your keyless remotes ( each vehicle with keyless entry has it's own factory code )
I found the computer module (w/ the keyless entry factory code) on my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT behind and just below the rear passenger side seatbelt panel. Not sure if it's in the same location on the Sport model but it's worth a shot. Carefully remove the seatbelt panel (shoulder portion) and dislodge the top portion of the panel below it. The black computer module with the keyless entry code should be easily visible.
There is no factory reset code for keyless entry on a 2000 Ford Excursion. To find the code, locate the module underneath the dashboard. You may need a borescope to look at the number.
where on my 2004 freeport can I find the computer module
I assume that you are reffering to the Powertrain Control Module (12A650). This is located on the firewall down from the passenger side windshield wiper. You can see the 104 pin connector comming out of it. I think I need the location of the chassis computer. I bought the car used and it has the keyless entry number pad on the drivers door. The manual says that if I know the factory code I can use it to open the doors, or I can change the code. I have no idea what code is in the computer, but the manual says the factory code is taped to the "computer module". Any Help on where this module is located?
If you want to change the FACTORY code a new anti-theft control module or RAP module would have to be installed and you would have to get new remotes to go with the change
On mine it is in the back. Take off the panel where the third row seat is and use a mirror to see the number.
The ignition switch, also called the wireless control module, is the keyless entry computer and receiver.
The computer module for the keyless entry system on the 2006 Ford Explorer is behind the rear passenger seat. It is located under the seat belt panel.
