If you know what state he lived in, do an internet search for the "grand lodge" of that state. If you are outside of the United States, you can also find Grand Lodges of that particular jurisdiction. Freemasons hold regular lodge meetings. You can find your local lodge in the phone book or online. Failing those, you can probably find it from the website of the grand lodge for your state. They probably also hang out at each others' houses, or wherever other non-masons hang out.
All black masons in the United States of America are Price Hall masons. I don't think anyone in wikianswers will give you an answer to that question. Maybe you should find a Prince Hall lodge in LA and write them.
14 Presidents have been Mason's. Of these were Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison. If you compare the constitution of the United States to the Masonic constitution you will find some things that are alike. Washington was buried with a Masonic funeral and was past Grand Master and Master of his lodge.

You can also check your local phone book, the lodge may be listed in there. You may also find it under a community organizations website in your area. Another resource could be your local newspaper, certain days in some areas list meeting times for local organizations such as the Masons, Eagles, Elks, etc.
First, let me tell you my opinion about the Masons. Masons are a bunch of smart people who like to talk with the members of their club about things that are important to them. Everything else you hear, is most likely a conspiracy. I am NOT saying that it is impossible for the Masons to have bad things going on in their club, but I find that idea highly unlikely. Now, back to your question, I think that the Masons have some sort of support from the government in some way. There are MANY people in the government who are Masons. 15 of our presidents were Masons.
