I know on my DTI estate its either a 8 or 9 mil socket (Mines a 02 model)
turn socket left (there is two bolts look like stars) disconnect black tube from old EGR gently pull old EGR out of its place. (Then do the whole process in reverse. ) I must stress in treating this EGR with care .(Make sure you replace the EGR in the same position of the old one.)
you dont. only turbo diesel cars have an EGR valve

erm... the club 1.6 8v is a petrol non turbo right?! to need a dump valve you need a turbo, a dump valve is there to release the pressure that the turbo builds up. you can always look for a fake dump valve kit around £180 mark i think
fan belt keeps snapping ,teeth stripped of
The reverse of taking it off
Yes.
It should. Look at the EGR valve; it's on the drivers side of the head. If the EGR valve is the same, everything else should be easy to exchange.
Through the 90's, all SC2 engines were mostly interchangeable. There was a difference in the head, requiring the use of a different EGR valve. If the replacement engine does not use the same EGR valve, it is possible to create an adapter to use the older style EGR valve.
if the engine is an 8 valve it is behind the timing belt cover and if its 16 valve its on the front of the engine (os) in a housing with 3 bolts
