The fuel filter on a Citroen Xsara is under the car next to fuel tank, just in front of the rear drivers side wheel.
Check the fuel pump seal under the off side rear passenger seat. I had one replaced on a diesel and the seal was not seated correctly. I assume a petrol version is the same.
You will first need to open the fuel flap on the Skoda Superb by pressing on the left side of the flap. Once the flap is open take off the fuel cap by unscrewing it counterclockwise wise.
Fuel leak? Bad charcoal canister? Running rich? Dose it happen when you drive with the window open if it dose it is the seal on the tank needs replacing as ive got that on my citreon at the mo worse when the summer comes
You need the vehicle unlocked to open the fuel flap. The central locking also locks the fuel flap on this model.
sounds funny but check your brake lamp switch at the top of the brake pedal as the computer will reduce power to the low pressure fuel tank in the boot - this is activated by the brake pedal - so check correct operation of your brake lights & bulbs this will give first clue. other wise the usuals like fuel filter etc
When you accelerate hard you are injecting a lot of fuel into the engine. Not all of this fuel will burn efficiently which results in a lot of soot being generated, you will see this as a black plume behind you. If your filters are old and blocked they will reduce the amount of air getting into the engine so again you get an inefficient burn. Badly maintained taxis are good at generating soot like this...
When you lock the car with the key fob the center console and fuel flap lock aswell. When you unlock the car with the key fob the center console and fuel flap unlock.
