This question is not clear. To enter text in a cell, click on the cell and type your text. If the text is too long to display in the cell, you can make the column wide enough to display the text. Another option is to format the cell to wrap text.
It will fill the cell with # symbols.
If it is a number that is in the cell that is not wide enough, Excel will fill the cell with # symbols. If it is text in the cell, either the text will only show what can fit in it if the next cell has something in it, or it will spill out across the neighbouring cells if they are empty, though the text will not actually be in those neighbouring cells.
It depends on the length of each word. The number of words does not matter; the limit is the number of total characters, including spaces. The maximum length of cell contents (text) is 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display can display in a cell, but all 32,767 characters display in the formula bar.

Change the font size of the content of the cell.
It ensures that text remains in the confines of a cell, rather than flowing out of the cell, if it is too long to fit into it. The text will wrap onto another line and make the cell higher if necessary.
If text is too wide to fit in a cell and you do not want to widen the column, you can wrap the text so it appears on several lines in the same cell.
In Microsoft Excel, double-click on the line that separates the column labels (the letters at the top of the spreadsheet). The column will resize to fit the contents of the widest value in that column. This usually works unless the contents of the cell are the result of a formula.
Change the font size. You can do that on the formatting toolbar, or through Cells on the Format menu, or you can right click on the cell to do it from there. Also consider widening the column, merging with a neighbouring cell or using text wrapping.
In Excel, the options allow you to adjust your print output, as desired. The most helpful option is to let Excel automatically scale your spreadsheet to fit on a single printed page.
Use the control Worksheet_Change. See related links for a sample macro that will trigger a macro when the cell changes. Modify, as needed, to fit your specific situation.
If the cell beside it is empty, then the text will spill over it, although it is still contained in the original cell. If the cell next to it has anything in it, the text will appear truncated, so you will only see as much text as will fit in the cell, although it is still all stored in it.
