There is a manual override switch in the trunk on the drivers side
Real answer:
Crown air suspension, when it works its great. When its down its a night mare. Sounds like your problem is with the compressor. It is not releasing air as it is supposed to. There is a check valve in the compressor, and when it is over limit, it will release pressure. Also, while you are at it. Check the rear adjuster, and make sure it is in place and not damaged. Theres more, but I believe this should cover whats wrong for now. Check your air springs ( bags ) also. If you think that you will spend a lot of money for the repair, then check out the conversion kit available. Go to " strutmasters " they have what you need. Its not the end of the world to go to coil springs, but I tell you, It will save you lots of problems a lots of $$$$$$$...By the way, the switch in the trunk is just to turn on and off the system, when jacking up the rear.
Check fuse for brake switch, check switch, or light control module,
Have the code read, that will tell you.
Yes, they are identical
Check the bulbs, the fuse then the brake light switch.
Disconnect battery for 15 - 20 mintues
To change the check engine light bulb on a 1996 Crown Victoria you need to remove the molding from around the instrument panel. Next, remove the headlight knob and shafts. Locate the light bulb and turn counterclockwise to remove. Reverse directions to replace with a new bulb.
Check the volts right from the battery, might be a faulty alt.
Start with the light sensor on the brake pedal arm.
If you fix the problem with your air suspension
Just use a test lite and check them all.
Not positive which one but it sounds like a computer or sensor problem
on my 98 crown vic you have to push in the head light switch
