P0401 code means insufficient EGR flow. The usual causes are:
Just to help stop any others being confused. The Freestar's have an integral DPFE sensor in the EGR, which also includes the vacuum pressure regulator.
One benefit is you don't end up chasing code P0401 everywhere and replacing parts one at a time. The bad part, you have to replace the whole EGR (extremely comon on that van) due to 0401 error codes. Last one I installed was $126.
The good side though, you get a new DPFE, EGR and pressure regulator all at the same time and it's usually cheaper than buying the three parts separately, also quicker and easier to change as a single unit. Of course, make sure the two vacuum lines are not eroded or split (they have a plastic sheath and a moulded plug so they rarely fail). The EGR down tube has a small restrictor plate in it, but again it rarely clogs due to the heat of the exhaust that burns off deposits. Prob time for a new EGR I'm afraid.
Replace EGR module...do it yourself....takes about 25 minutes
Trouble code P0401 means: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Malfunction Replace the EGR Valve
po401 mean Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected.
Can you tell me anything about a 2008 Hyundai interrupt it is a call Honda
how to fix a 2006 ford rsc sensor
hi, you can tell me what kind of car, and I can suggestion your the tool to repair it.
Remove EGR valve and inspect for blocked or restricted passages.
The code depends on the manufacturer. Get it to autozone and have it tested, they will give you a printout of the most probable causes. What kind of car and engine is it? For a ford, p0401 insufficient flow within the egr system. it is most likely then a dpfe sensor or a clogged passage in the egr system. cheap fix.
I hope so.
It is on because there is a problem with the abs system. Fix the problem and the abs light will reset itself. Have your local auto parts store read the codes for you.
p0401 is related to EGR valve flow. Possible bad EGR, check passageway under EGR to see if its plugged See also for the DPFE before changing the EGR Valve.
simple buy a new car with no alarm like this...problem solve :P
