That problem is a generic "cannot connect error". I get this problem all the time at college because there are so many people connected to the network but at home i am 100% fine. The best way would be to to NOT do the easy option for connecting. If im right your trying wireless but the ps3 defaults to wired when you do easy. Try to make sure your attempting the right connection.
You need WiFi to access the internet feature on your PlayStation 3. If it is not accessing the wiFi, make sure:
•You have it set up through the Network Setting in the PlayStation's menu.
•Your connection is not too weak
•Your internet is not secured to an extent you have to enter details manually.
•Your WiFi is working on another device.
•Nobody is using the line for other purposes (Eg: Sending fax messages, which in some rare cases requires the WiFi to be disconnected)
•Your PlayStation is updated to the most recent update. (Even though this shouldn't affect it)
I set mine up with the wired connection using the ethernet cable because the PS3 did not have as good a download speed on the test with WiFi. Before that I learned if I password protected my WiFi connection it kept the connection better. If this and the above information does not help I've added a link to the PlayStation Knowledge Support network under this in related links: How do I connect the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system to the Internet?
Restart your internet connect. If its wireless, it'll basically find out the DNS error. Or just wait an hour or two and your error will be solved.. always works for me

The error messages look as if there might be a problem with the DNS. It may be that the information in the worldwide DNS system is not updated correctly. One possible problem might be that your public IP address changes too frequently. I would consult about this problem with your ISP (if you host locally), or with your hosting provider (if you host somewhere else).

You cannot. It will soon reproduce and devour the entire planet. There is no hope.
Turn off the proxy server and check all the other connection settings!
This was a big error with some PS3's which was dispatched. There is no way to fix this, you will need to send it back to your store or contact Sony.
