open the hood, if its a 4.0 the thermostat is right on the front of the motor, there are 2 hoses going to it, take both hoses off, take out both bolts to the thermostat housing. scrape the old gasket off the housing and the head, replace themostat, put a bead of gasket sealer around all the holes, replace bolts and hoses and burp the cooling system.
honestly though, if you have to ask how to do a thermostat, you might just want to have one of your more knowledgeable friends fix your Jeep.
