The 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro/Pontian Firebird were equipped with the 10-bolt rear end. The mechanical condition or problem with differential will dictate the type of repair needed. Severe conditions can results in noise, such as worn out ring and pinion gears. These jobs are labor intensive and require experienced mechanics to set up and replace correctly.

could be a bad spark plug or bad plug wire.
rear differential is low on fluid replace the fluid in the diff. or if that dont work you may have to replace it

try changing the tranny fluid and put a new filter in and add a bottle of Lucas transmission fix and pray.
This is a common problem. just get the rear differential fluid replaced. it will fix it. Dealer charges around $80 for that.
It all depends on what is wrong with it but most of the time you have to tear it apart to replace parts in it and if you have never done it your better off just buying a new one.
