To remove the bolt, you should have done the following: Looking from back to front, on the left side (oposite of the bolt handle) is a small lever called a Bolt Stop Lever where the stock meets the left rear of the barrel. This lever should be in down position normally. Pull the lever up to the 1 o'clock position and do not force it up past the 1 o'clock positon. Slowly pull the bolt out. You are done. To put it back, line the bolt up the same way you pulled it out and slowly slide it back in. Push the Bolt Stop Lever down to the stock after it is half way in. Always be safe when handling firearms. Good luck!!!
I have a Model 41 J.C.Higgins single shot S, L,LR 22 cal. rifle. The question was how do you pull the bolt out of it. If that's all you want to do , then make sure it is unloaded by pulling the bolt up and back, then just hold back on the trigger and continue holding the trigger back . The bolt will slide right out of the receiver. To put it back , make sure the firing pin is lined up with the slot inside . But they are right about one thing , The model 41 is one of the best shooting little rifles I have ever had. My mother bought mine when I was 10. I still have it. AnswerMake sure the rifle is empty . Remove action and barrel from stock. Remove large screw on bottom of stock and lift barrel and action out of stock. On the bottom of action about an inch ahead of the trigger is a screw, remove this screw. With one hand hold trigger back all the way. With other open bolt and pull it back until the bolt is clear of receiver and out of the rifles action. . The bolt assembly on these rifles is two piece witch consists of the actual bolt and a cylinderical crome plated part called the Feed throat. It is important when reassebling the gun to put tht feed throat back on the bolt as you found it before putting it back in the rifle.as you can damage the bolts extractor be carefull. These are one of the best single shot 22 rifles ever made they are of a very unique design very fuctional and one of the most accurate 22s of their class. it was made around 1961.

Having trouble identifying the model. In 1979 (date indicated by your sn), Browning produces the BBR bolt-action rifle, the B78 single-shot and the BAR semiautomatic rifle in 7mm Remington Magnum, but none of those had that 117 designation. What type of rifle do you have?
Yes but it will shock you like a lightning bolt.
Mossberg or Savage/Stevens? Any particular model? sales@countrygunsmith.net

The Remington model 740 was the first semi-auto rifle chambered in 30-06,and was made from 1955-1959.The Remington model 742 was the next design and made from 1960-1980.I believe that the difference might be the gas piston, and the way the bolt locked up in the chamber(more bolt lugs).
Please tell me how to install the bolt in a Remington Model 512
how do you get the bolt back in a remengton 592
If you are referring to the model 58 22 cal. bolt action rifle, push the thumb safety all the way forward toward the muzzle, open the bolt, pull back and the bolt will slide right out.
Because the bolt stop is broken..they have a plastic bolt stop.
If you look at the very back of the receiver on the left side there will be a small tip of the bolt stop showing in the left bolt guide channel, push it down while the bolt is open and pull back on the bolt. Should fall out .
Actuate the bolt to the rear and there is a tang in front of the trigger that hangs down..Press up on this tang and pull the bolt back and it will remove it from the action.
Model 58 is an automatic not a bolt action
A Remington Model 760 magazine "CAN" be used in the Model 742 Remington if they are the same caliber. The 742 rifle is designed to hold the bolt back after the last round is fired. Along the left side of the 742 magazine there is a bolt release button that will allow the bolt to move forward after a full mag. replaces the empty one. The 760 mag. has the same magazine body but does not have the bolt release button so the bolt will not move forward until the mag. is removed.
remington 725 caliber 222 bolt action excellant condition
The Remington model 700 bolt handle is part of the bolt body and this is a one piece forging. The only way to remove the bolt handle is to cut it off at the bolt body.
