It can be your wheel alignment that is off in most cases but could also be a bearing or tyrod in your front driver side wheel or even your tires themselves. You must get it checked.

Yes, Usually if someone borrows your car it should be covered. You should have and household operators listed on your policy though.
You have a defective component. Do not take it back to the same place. If the next place can fix the problem, you should be able to get a refund from the first place.
Try having your front suspension aligned. Check your ignition system for misfiring as well.

check your fluids it is probably low on antifreeze and if it still does it change your thermostat that should fix the problem
