I've had this problem before. If your cell phone is frozen wait a little while for it to become un-frozen, chances are, you were clicking things too fast that the cell phone needs time to retain what you ordered it to do. If your cell phone is still frozen, try turning it off and then back on. Lastly, if you are having this much trouble, turn it off, take the battery out, put the battery back in, and turn it back on.
Could be a defective battery ...
Another possibility is overuse - like anything else electronic, these items need a break, too. One wouldn't expect to run their car at 120 MPH 24 hours a day, 7 days in a row, likewise even these 'high tech' items need to rest along the way.
Either let it cool off by taking out the battery. It may have been put on a charger to long so take it off the charger. Take off the case. Finally if you need too get a cool towel and wrap the phone in it, making sure that the battery is still on because that is probably the part that is heating up to much.
leave it in a cold towel (not wet or damp) over night

When cell phones overheat it is usually due to a poor quality or old battery. The fix is to get a new battery. Cell phones have been known to explode from defective batteries.
You should stop using it for a while until it cools down.

First and the best option available is to call the service centre to check your cell phone for issues and fix your phone. Second is to sell your old and used business phone to Telecom vendors and get a fair amount of money in return.
buy a new one
Turn it off then turn it back on
You should probably call your cell-phone company.. On a different phone of course. :)
