The best electric string trimmer based on the consumer report is the Stihl FSE 60. They say it can handle as tough of weeds as any gas trimmer but you do have to contend with the chord. For a 2 stroke string trimmer, the best one is Echo SRM-225. It is light and tough on weeds.
Certain models of Stihl grass trimmers are designed to run on gasoline and can be used with up to a 10% (E10) blend of ethanol in the gasoline/engine oil mix, although it is important not to exceed this limit.

Stihl does not make parts or service available at their website though dealers have secure access through a different site also availble to students through applying for guest access. One site has a few manuals available. The line trimmers are FS models with three engines used in recent years; the 4137, 4140 and 4180. Hedge trimmers are HS model with comparable engines though the crankshaft is often applicatio-specific. Check the link below.
