Click on Start, then on Control Panel, then on Display. Click on the Settings tab. On lower left side, where it says Screen Resolution, move the button back or forth to change how much of the screen you use.
If you dont want to go to the expense of buying a new LCD screen you should set the screen in proper position straight up whenever you use it and dont tilt the screen or use it lying down if you do this for about 2-3 months it will start working like new again.
Hope this helped (:

repair the operating system, this will bring back all your default drivers, your screen should then go back to normal
A good computer shop should be able to replace broken parts to fix this.
It matters on what type of laptop it is.
plug display cable on laptop with the broken screen's CPU
take it to a laptop fix shop near you.
Either via remote desktop connection or by attaching a external monitor. If your laptop screen does not show anything - not even a manufacturers/Microsoft logo during start, it is likely your screen is broken. If your laptop-screen shows a very faint picture, it is likely the back light of your laptop screen is broken / disconnected. If however, everything is normal, up to when you would normally see your lo gin screen, but then your screen goes black, it is likely to be a setting on your computer, which you yourself can fix. Please refer to the related link black screen. If you get a new laptop and bring your old laptop to the store you can get the info transferred from the old one to the new one you can also do this with cell phones. Ken Eddy
Replace the backlight...
yes it is fixable
Once part of the screen is broken, it will spread to the rest of it. You can not fix it, You need to replace the whole LCD Screen. I would suggest looking online for one. They aren't that hard to replace and very affordable. ScreenCountry.com would be the best place out there. The link is http://www.screencountry.com
Just restart your laptop!
