look near the thermostat housing ( where the top radiator hose goes back to the engine) there should be a sensor that screws in. It has a one wire lead that just goes over the top of it. unplug the wire and put a socket the sensor and unscrew. Install a new sensor in reverse order. They usuall cost no more than 20.00.
it is either a temperature sensor just for the gauge or possibly a fuse, i recommend going to your local auto parts store and have them hook up their diagnostic computer to tell you the problem. its usually free!
you can buy the gauge at any auto store or even walmart and there are directions with the gauge.
numrich arms - do a web search for them, they have a lot of stuff....
normally the gauge should be in the middle.(between hot and cold) that is concider operating temp.
100-250 USD or so
The Browning Auto-5 came in 12-, 16- and 20-gauge varieties.
With no make/model/year/engine information to work with...The temperature gauge is driven by a simple sensor that is both cheap and easy to replace.Any auto parts store will be able to help you find it on your engine, and of course more than happy to sell you one.
The sensor (or the computer) is shot. Must be replaced to fix it.
its 65 degrees, in Edinboro,Pa
