Don't know. What are the symptoms. I'm having the same trouble right now, and I have replaced too many parts to list. There are good answers on www.astrosafari.com
-rotor and cap is number 1 cause - use only original parts
-plug wires if routed incorrectly arc against the doghouse or are just too old
-worn distributor if timing is jumping around
-egr valve sticking -remove and clean- use updated screen gasket
-O2 sensor slow - if idles good for 3 mins then gets rough
-vaccum leak behind battery inside harness
e.g.r. valve replacement fixed mine. symptoms where rough idle and "surged".
Is anyone on line to help me with this question? Where is the fast idle thermal valve in a 1997 Chevy astro van located?
i want to fix a 1995 astro vans oil pan how do i go about that?
inspect the distributor gear.
The idle is automatic. If the speed is not corect then you have to fix the problem with the idle motor.
replace timing chain
either cam shaft sensor or crankshaft sensor or air flow meter are the common 3 things
TO fix a broken Astro turn signal, check the flasher first. Then check the sockets and bulbs to find the problem.
My 89Chevrolet astro van digital speedometer stop working. How do I fix it
You should first look at your distributor closely because astros are known for having pick up coil problems. next is cylinder pressures. Cylinder pressure is probably the last thing to look at. If you are just having a rough idle you need to start with new spark plugs and wires. Clean out the throttle body. If there is no improvement from that then check for vacuum leaks and proper EGR flow. 4.3 Chevy engines are known for egr issues. Is the check engine light on? could even be an oxygen sensor problem.
I have a 1996 Astro van and I'm having trouble too. My fan motor sticks. It has for a while. Its not the heater but the fan that has draged. I can get out and pound on the casing, and sometimes it starts up.
try your tps sensor . means throttle position . may be giving a false reading. /
