that car has issues with the windows and VW knows about it! Call your local VW dealer and ask if they will fix it for free! they would fix all of them for free awhile back regardless of the milage on the car!
window regulator is worn out
It is most likely a disconnected or broken wire in or going to the driver's door.
Buy a new window switch part #5L1Z14529AA easy fix!.. It's a very common problem the drivers window sticks when going up
you have to take the door apart. from there if you can't figure it out then you probably need to take it to a mechanic
first take out the door panel. Then your going to see two rollers Take the window gently off the rollers then pull window out repeat to install.
If it is and automatic transmission....you probably have a damaged or loose hose going to the radiator.
check to see if the window switch of the driver's side is getting power, if you are getting power to the switch and the switch is sending power out to the motor but the motor is not responding the motor needs to be replaced
I would remove the door panel and have a look at what's going on in there the window has obviously popped out of the guide.
The problem may not be that the window has come off the track. I have a '98 Chrysler Concorde and the driver's side window wasn't operating correctly so I took the interior door panel off and found that one of the brackets that anchor the window to the track had broken. I tried to repair it with JB Weld but it didn't hold. I'm going to have to buy a new window.
I would try the window switch first , but if you are going to replace the switch then you will see how to replace the motor. You would have to take the door panel apart after that its easy.
On my Tahoe one of the door triggers was going bad.
It is on the driver's side, rear of the transmission. It has two wires going to it, that should be white though that is never a certainty.
