Assuming this is a bearing knock, remove the engine, disassemble engine, inspect, replace or rebuild worn parts (crankshaft, bearings, etc), reassemble engine, install engine. Or, you can go with a good used engine if you have a reputable salvage yard you can trust.

You can run a diagnostic test for the knock sensor, on your 2005 Chevy avalanche, by hooking the engine up to a diagnostic tester.
Most likely cause-valvetrain noise, check oil level, pressure, also possible engine knock. If you have a knock sensor, mil should be illuminated

That engine has 2 knock sensors and there both underneith the intake manifold. You can not see are get to them untill you remove the intake.

There is NO right are left bank knock sensor. If you are smart you will replace BOTH of them while you have the intake off. You do have left and right bank oxygen senors, But not knock sensors.
