You cant fix them. You either have to get one from the dealer ($60) or from a junk yard ($20). Mine went out two months ago and my passenger side is about to go as well.

yes
Front of the engine. It has a round yellow plastic handle to pull it out.
FOUND ANSWER. IT WAS THE HAZARD BUTTON ON THE STEERING. A PIECE OF PLASTIC HAD BROKEN.
Yours probably has the same problem as mine...& that is the door handle has broken off inside. Mine has 2 broken tangs & so it will not work but it works inside.
the linkages have either been removed/disconnected from inside the door panel (maybe parted out) or the frame has torqued (as in a crash) and they are jammed If handle has no resistance the handle it's self is broken. When handle has a constant lite resistance from a spring it will be linkage from handle to latch disconnected or damaged (The linkage has small plastic clips holding it in place on each end and break fairly easily.)
right in front of the driver
beside the steering wheel on the left side. somewhat under the dash, there should be a handle, if broken..then there will be a wire. you just pull the handle/wire and it opens up the front compartment.
towards the front of the car, away from the interior of the car, on the passenger side, there's a yellow loop handle, should have words "engine oil" actually printed on it
one its closer to the front
Under the back seat of the passenger side in the front corner there should be a pull release handle to lift the seat. If you don't see it, you may have to undo the Velcro strip to see it. After you find it, pull on release handle to lift the seat. Note: Still if you don't see the pull release handle, then there is a possibility the handle is broken off, in that case just feel around under the front corner or you may see a hole in the Velcro where the handle went threw. After locating were the handle may had broken off, get a pair of vice grips to latch onto where the handle was broken off from and pull on the release rod or cable.
