Your operating system is either corrupted or damaged. The easiest way to fix this is to reinstall your OS. Put your OS CD into your CD drive and boot from it. Then choose repair a windows installation. If this doesn't work pretty much you need to format and reinstall and, of course, you'll lose everything on your drive.
Also, first check to make sure that there isn't a floppy disk in Drive A or a CD in those drives. If the machine is trying to boot off one of those, it will render this error as the needed file doesn't exist on those drive sources. Of course, if this is not the case, then the sage advice above this one is the route to take for sure.
The NTLDR file is on the windows installation disc in the I386 subdirectory.
Log onto the drive in recovery mode from the installation disc and copy the file into the root of the windows directory to effect a repair.
Once the operating system is running again run a full system file scan using an proven functioning antivirus program (An online antivirus scanner such as housecalls is good for this), since it is highly likely that your computer is infected with a destructive virus.
i think that means the computer is broken
you will get an error when you start up your computer. it will say NTLDR is missing press ctrl alt del to continue....... so don't do it!!
All you have to do is rub the hard drive with a magnet. Simple as that :D
It is the process that releases all of the boot files from Microsoft. DO NOT stop this process. Your computer will crash.

"Ntldr" has no extension. Also "hosts" has no extension. "Ntldr" is an executable file, and "hosts" is a text file (but that would be an answer to a different question).
the three files in booting files in windows xp boot.ini ntldr and ntdetect.com
NTLDR means New Technology Loader, which is a component that Windows XP, Vista, 2000, and 7 have to load up before starting the computer, if you get a message like that the best thing to do is to repair your computer with the OS (Operating System) disk that came with it.
If the system drive is C, then the address is C:\
NTLDR will default to \Windows on the first partition of the first hard drive.
yes. I've enc0untered pr0blems like this. And the only thing to do is ref0rmat the system.
