There is a breather plate inside that has a small hole, if I remember correctly that little hole needs to be near the bottom. The plate can be installed upside down if your not careful then oil leaks.
get a new hose
You don't normally fix the power steering hose. Buy a new hose at an auto parts store.
Replace the hose or use a splice kit for a temporary repair.
Depends where it's leaking, but basically you fix it the same way you fix any coolant leak. <><><><><> Generally, its a hose that is leaking. You find the leaking hose, and you replace it, being sure to properly treat the ends with anti-leak compound. If its the radiator, you need to replace that. If its the intake manifold or head, you are getting into big bucks to replace the gasket involved.
Look for a leaking hose, water pump, or raditor find the leak and fix it.
If you have the smarts and tools, yes you can do it yourself.
In order to fix a split leaking water indoor air conditioner, simply locate the hose from the outside of the AC. Check to see if the hose is blocked. If so, unblock it. A blocked hose is a common reason why the AC will leak.

Clean the power steering are real good check for where the leak is coming from and go from there. For example if a hose is leaking replace hose, if power steering pump seals are leaking replace pump, exc.

Our 15 year old GE dishwasher is leaking water from under the unit in the wash cycle and also when it drains. Could this be a bad pump or a bad hose?
it all depends on where its leaking from if its leaking from a hose then it could be a quick fix of 40 bucks but if its leaking from a gas tank then you might be able to empty it and clean it out and maybe put a spot of weld on it but if its too bad then you might have to spend upwards of 400 bucks or more on a new one and if its rusty then dont bother trying to fix it....
