Well i am thinking this is what you mean by oil on spark plug. When you pull plug wire out of valve cover it has lots of oil on it ??? If this is the case change the valve cover gasket and plug seals . Should all come as a kit .Very easy to change your self . Can change in less then a 1/2 hour even if you never done it before ...Hope this helps ..

What would cause motor oil to get into spark plugs of a 93 Honda Accord?

Oil on the outside of the spark plugs is caused by a leaking valve cover gasket. Replace the valve cover gasket. Oil on the electrode of the spark plugs indicates the engine is worn and is burning oil. The only fix for this is an engine rebuild.

How do you fix an erratic idle problem with a 1991 Honda Civic?

I have a 1991 Honda Accord. I ran a bottle of "slick 50" fuel system cleaner through my car with a tank of gas. It helped the miss some. Then I changed the spark plugs. If this does not help with your civic, change the wires. It could also be that you need a new distributor cap and rotor button. If these suggestions do not help, go to a good mechanic for a tune-up.

What to do if one cylinder is not firing on a 1989 Honda civic si?

The first thing to do if one cylinder is not firing on a 1989 Honda Civic SI, is to disconnect the battery. Then remove the spark plug wire and the spark plug. Check to see that there is no oil on the plug and it has the right gap measurement. Then replace the spark plug and wire and try the engine again. If it is still misfiring, change the spark plug. If that does not fix the problem, have a compression check done for that cylinder.
