Someone can take an HD projector to a repair center to get it fixed or they may want to venture and fix it themselves. You may even be able to take it back to the locate where you purchased the projector and have them fix it.
The only thing that is dangerous is the chance of breaking the projector because it is very expensive to fix.
There are many websites that provide DIY projector plans, But none offer a way to repair a Projector Lens. I would look into how much it is to replace the Lens or the projector all together.

faulty dmd and mainboard. replace mainboard. u can try squesing the projector. on bottom and topp. that can fix it for a while but ultimately u need to change the mainboard.

For the most part, desk lamps are not too complicated to fix. One will be better off buying the broken parts and replacing them rather than try to fix the broken parts because the parts for a desk lamp are usually inexpensive.
