First off, the correct terminology is tachometer, not RPM gage. And second, we do not have enough information on your problem to give you a proper diagnosis, thus we can not tell you how to fix it. My suggestion would be to see a mechanic.

Because somehow fuel gets in the exhaust and backfires, the best way to fix this problem is to clean out your carb, clean the pilot and jets inside of it, most people that done this said that it was the problem.

You CAN'T, It is controlled by the computer, It's not ajustable.You probley need to just clean the throttle plate real good and that should fix your adle problem.

First thing you can do to try to fix this problem is to change your transmission fluid and filter when i purchased my fiero it had similar pro just do that and you should be fine.
The RPM gauge is connected to the same wiring on as all the lights on the dashboard. A faulty RPM gauge can be replaced but requires removing the whole dash from the vehicle.

If the vehicle is fuel injected, the RPM (revolutions per minute) is controlled electronically by the ECM (engine control module) and is not adjustable.
