I have a suggestion as well, although I warn you mine is more work, but also has been proved on over one hundred Northstar engines to date, with a 99% success rate. You do have to pull the engine, but It's a fool proof repair. These head gaskets are failing because the original head bolts are fine threaded in an aluminum block. Over time the block and heads just strip due to the pressure. A process just like this is also used on race cars, and it was used on my Oldsmobile Aurora.
HG replacement on a Northstar is not a trivial job. The engine should be pulled. Re-tapping the head bolt holes MUST be done. At a typical dealer, it's a $3500-$5000 job, with I believe a 40-hour book.
If you remove the head then of course you replace the head gasket.Where can you get sodium silicate to fix a blown head gasket?Know that adding sodium silicate to an engine is only a temporary fix for a blown head gasket and will not permantly fix the problem. The only permanent fix is to replace the head gasket. I would never add any head gasket fix material to any engine.
No - the head gasket repair can be done with the engine still in the vehicle.See "Related Questions" below for more
You can't. The only fix for blown head gasket is to replace it. Anything else is just a temporary emergency repair and will not last.
No it will not. The only thing that will fix a blown head gasket is to replace the gasket.
does nanotechnology ( head gasket and block repair) fix blowen head gasket
If all that is wrong is a blown head gasket and even a cracked head it is much easier and cheaper to just fix it than to replace the engine. The labor to replace the engine plus the cost of the engine would be far greater than fixing the one you now have. This is assuming the engine is not worn out already.
Replace the head gasket is the only fix.
The only fix is to remove the head and replace the gasket.
remove head and replace gasket :)
Remove the head and replace the gasket. No other way to fix it.
No, the only permanent fix for a blown head gasket is to replace it.
