You should not try to force feed a dog. The only time it might be necessary to force feed a dog is when you have to give them medicine. In that case, you can put the pill in it's mouth, close it's mouth gently and massage their neck with your hand.

∙ 14y agoA dog should NOT be force fed. There are various reasons why a dog will refuse its food, some of which are instinctual if a dog is ill and food would cause vomiting. Trust in a dog's instincts when it comes to feeding. A dog might even refuse food if it's stale or has something wrong with it unknown to the owner. They have a keen sense of such things.

∙ 11y agoKeep opening the puppy's mouth until it opens by itself, then open it again when it's next to the mother's nipple. Lastly: right when your next to the nipple put the mouth on it and BOOM you puppy should be eating.! :)
