Your laptop might have a recovery partition you can boot to. Usually this is done by pressing F10 at startup and following the instructions.
If your computer does NOT have a recovery partition, you will need to boot to the discs that came with your laptop. If you've lost these recovery CDs, more can be ordered from HP.
to format a hp laptop you should use the recovery cds. before using them make sure to select the option to boot from cd/dvd rom drive from the bios menu.

If you have a USB drive and your BIOS supports booting from a USB device then try that.
Usually it means that it is the wrong format, you can get a free video converter online and change the format to windows media. MWV, MPG.
you need to be more specific
You need to find out which adapter you have. After that, check the laptop manufacture website for appropriate drivers.
I Dont really think there is one but all you have to do is open the programs that always start up and in there setting it should be a box ticked open program when windows startup all you have to do is untick that box and they wont bug you anymore
You need to check your CD-Rom status in Device Manager, update the driver if needed or upload latest drivers from your laptop's manufacturer website.
Be sure it is in a format it will accept like WMA or MP3 or WAV, AACS (itunes) wont work, nor will OGGs work.
Big enought to not be a laptop. As in, you wont want it on your lap.
