If it were me I'd use unfrozen, raw shrimp...it only takes a few minutes to cook through.
When I want to cook thawed, pre-cooked shrimp in a frying pan however I make sure it's totally thawed and I also pat it dry. I make sure my pan and whatever I've got in there is up to temp, toss in the shrimp and stir. Not too much liquid, depending on what you're making, or it will just steam/simmer.
You've got to be really careful with this though since the shrimp will get super tough and rubbery if cooked too long. Raw shrimp is definitely better-it turns from grey to pink and is nice and juicy and not too tough.
1)Get a shrimp.
2)Get a frying pan.
3)Put the shrimp in the frying pan.
4)Turn the cooker on.
5)Cook the shrimp until it looks like you could eat it.
6)Enjoy!
I believe it is not possible to heat shrimp and expect it to taste/smell good. i did that once, smelld horrible and tasted very bad
Deep fry it.
2 to 3 min.
It is cheaper and easier to prepare than raw shrimp. Large amounts of breaded shrimp can be frozen and stored a long time without loosing their flavor. Unfortunately, like all fried foods, breaded shrimp is much more unhealthy than any other form of shrimp preparation.
Don't buy breaded shrimp.
yes because it is frozen and everything frozen weighs more then unfrozen.
Sure... but it will more then likely be over cooked. Shrimp does not take long to cook. Your shrimps texture may be a little tough. But YES, you can fry pre-cooked shrimp.
You can bake this food at various temperatures. Its not the temperature that matters with this food. It is the time in which you cook it in. Shrimp should be cooked until they turn red or pink. Then they are done any longer and they will just get tough.
No. Scampi is a dish of breaded shrimp or prawn.
Yes you can. From my experience it keeps well for up to six weeks.
One of the most cost efficient shrimp recipes is Shrimp Gumbo. It is made with rice, which is inexpensive, and can be made with frozen shrimp. Frozen shrimp are far less costly than fresh shrimp but are almost as delicious. The actual cost of the meal will vary according to where you live and what kind of grocery you shop at, as well as how many people you wish you serve. Another simple meal with frozen shrimp is battered and fried shrimp served with cocktail sauce. Again, the shrimp will be less expensive because they are frozen and the only other small expense will be the cocktail sauce.
not solid frozen but a little frozen is ok although its easier for them to eat non frozen shrimp.
