If a metallic gel pen has ink, but isn't working, hold it with the writing tip facing down and tap it several times. Scribble with it on some plain (non-glossy) paper, and flick or tap it a few more times. You may need to clean the tip with a little alcohol as well. Whenever you are not using a gel pen, it is important to store them tip side down. Gravity really does a number on the gel, especially when they are not being used daily.
