Well honestly, been there done that. I'm a grade 7 girl and my first bf was in grade 6, so I have experience .

1. Guys aren't always as... mature as girls. It was proven that girls mature faster than boys ! So make sure he's worth it, not just liking you because he wants a gf.

If he's not very smart/he's the class clown/a trouble maker/a person who's not good in class... no. I've made that mistake before. They don't treat you well becasuse they don't treat anyone else well. They need to annoy and hurt others to amuse themselves.

But whatever... if you like him, that sure. Just a tip :)

2. Try things that he likes. See if you have anything in common. You might find yourself doing something you both love, that you've never tried before !

3. Play it cool. Don't act different around him, just be yourself. It's not a big deal... just take a breath and be calm. Don't try to be anyone else around him.

4. Be brave. If you have courage, he'll be impressed. Don't let anyone bring you down or hurt you. No hurting other people or being mean with words though, that shows that you are just a bully. Stand up for yourself but don't be rude !

5. Give him little hints that you like him before making the move. He will need time to think about if he is interested in you. Be nice to him, talk to him but don't annoy him by not leaving him alone, smile at him, make him feel comfortable around you.

6. Makeup and faking it doesn't always work. Be yourself, who you really are, and if he doesn't accept the real you then he's not worth it.

7. When you're ready to make the move, remember: bravery. Sending another person to tell them you like them shows that you don't have the courage to tell him yourself. Go up to him and ask to talk to him in private. Don't overwelm him and be patient. Here's an idea of what to say:

"Hi _____, can I talk to you in private? So please hear me out. I really like you and it would be great if you would be my boyfriend. I promise I won't ask you to change who you are to be with me. I'll try my best to be a good girlfriend. Think about it and let me know!"

Be enthusiatic about it, but don't over do it. Just saying that you don't wanna sound like a bored robot or anything.

"It would be great if you would be my boyfriend" -not asking him, but letting him know how you feel and telling him that if he wanted to, you would accept. Also letting him know how much you would like it if he wanted to.

"I promise I won't ask you to change" -you're making a promise; don't break it or you will lose his trust. Guys can be pressured to change to be someone else to impress you sometimes; let him know that he doesn't have to do that because you will accept him for who he is.

"I'll try my best to be a good girlfriend" -you're telling him that you won't change but you'll improve to satisfy him and letting him know that you will treat him well.

"Think about it" -showing patience. He might need time to think about your offer and you are telling him that there's no pressure and that you will give him time to think.

Alrighty! Let me just say I love when I see grade 6 girls asking out guys because traditionally the guy asks the girl, but you are showing bravery and asking him anyways. Also, you are very young and it is harder to do that kind of thing because you are more nervous than an adult might be in that situation.

And if he says no, it's not the end of the world. He's just not worth it. There is someone out there that you will be so happy around and he will accept you for who you are. The person you are made to be with is walking to earth right now !
