There are many products at your drug store that are 'tangle free' and you could use this. If it's super bad and you don't want to go out and you have a pet you groom, use their tangle free comb (has little razors on it and it won't leave a big bald spot where the tangle is. Also using Olive Oil on the tangle, working it in and then putting your comb through and get as much as the tangle out as you can. Then shampoo and use the tangle free products.
