To get a broken key out of the door lock, first spray the lock with a small amount of lubricant. Then insert a saw blade along the grooved side of the key and pull it back towards you. Keep doing this until the key shaft begins to move outwards, then grab a tweezers and pull it out all the way.

∙ 11y agoIF you know exactly what kind of glue you could possibly do it by soaking the entire lock in a container of that glue's solvent.
Otherwise you would have to take it totally apart, including the tumblers and springs and get the hardened glue out with tweezers and blades. -Either way, it's possibly cheaper to just get a new lock !

∙ 18y agoI had the same problem once and I took a very small needlenose type pliers and was able to grab part of the key, and not only remove it but turn the ley in the lock as well.

∙ 9y agoRemoving a key stuck in a car door can be tricky since you risk snapping the key in the lock. It is strongly advised you contact a locksmith.

In the 91 Nissan Maxima the trunk can sometimes get stuck due to the key being hung up in valet mode. Valet mode is entered by turning the key counterclockwise until it lays horizontal. The key may be stuck in valet mode. If this is suspected spray WD40 in the keyhole and worked around a bit.

Insert your door key into the keyhole on the trunk. Turn left 90 degrees, and either push in the key, or remove the key and use your finger to press the keyhole button. The trunk lid will pop open.
