Best Answer

Forcing a cat inside will scare her/him and therefore won't want to go in again.

Try putting treats inside and familiarising the cat with the carrier so he/she doesn't regard it as scary and gets used to going inside.

Otherwise, it's just a question of will power and patience.
Someone can buy cat carriers at the local petstore or maybe at the pet department in a store. Often you can buy them cheaper at internet. Pay attention to the quality and size.

How would one go about deciding the size of the cat crate they need?

There are two easy steps to follow to determine the size of the ideal cat carrier. First, one should consider the reason for needing a carrier such as whether the carrier is only for vet visits or for travel in the car or on airplanes and determine if a soft-sided carrier or a hard plastic carrier will be more suitable for the situation. Second, one should consider the size of the cat and match the carrier size to the size of the cat. With these two steps in mind, one can find the perfect cat carrier.

How carrier look like?

A cat carrier is a compartment with a handle. It usually has a door with bars running vertically. To keep it closed, it usually has a small lock or lever to open. You should put a small blanket in the carrier when the cat is inside. Cats may be afraid of the carrier after a few appearances because they link the carrier to the notion that they will be going to the vet.

How do you get cat into carrier to take to vet?

I was able to do this by taking a blanket or towel that had a familiar smell that the cat could be comfortable with, placed inside the carrier a few days before having to use it. You can also place the carrier near a hiding spot that the cat uses and the cat will eventually get comfortable with it being around. With all these things used together, the cat will eventually go in on its own and may not give you the scars otherwise. You can also lure it inside with treats or it's cat food dish. Other times, brute force is the only thing that works.
