Well there are various ways for each cat, but the best way is to pick the cat up and take it in your arms and carry it into the house. I do this all the time, but only if the cat knows me and trusts me.

I believe that the reason your cat is not entering your house no more is because of the fact that another cat may be scaring your cat away from your home as the other cat believes that this house is now its territory. If this is not the case and you have another cat living with you then the cat that isn't coming inside feels unwanted as the other cat has been getting the love and affection. If you have kicked your cat out of the house temporarily (overnight) as it has done something bad then once again, your cat may feel unwanted, especially if this has happened under various occasions.
