You shouldn't necessarily worry about a person being older than you. You should be more worried about his personality to the point where if you find it to be incompatible with yours - you shouldn't even try because you'd only be wasting your time. Anyway, you should have the confidence of telling him that you like him (depending on where your current relationship is you should start a friend relationship with him first to get to know him at least), and from there will depend on your feelings after that and will depend if it works or not.
