You get over it and face your fear. If you really want a lip piercing, which by the way, makes it difficult to get a job if you are young, then you will face your fears and get it done. The initial pain is only temporary and the healing pain lasts for weeks, it is a big decision. Putting holes in your body is an injury according to your body's defense system. You shouldn't fear the needle, you should fear the infection, the swelling, the soreness and the occasional pus that comes with the piercing.
Just a note, pus should NEVER come out of a piercing. Pus is a sign of infection. You probably mean lymph fluid which is normal.
