The other way is to buy a Wizard 101 gift card. They sell them at GameStop and RiteAid. Using these, you can either get crowns and pay for areas separately, or use the card for a subscription. Both ways are good, the subscription starts from 1 month-6 months depending on the card or type. The crowns buy the area forever on that account and anyone on that wizard username can use the areas forever, Both of them are good. If you're going to play it occasionally or lose interest, get crowns. If you will stick to it and really like the game, get a subscription.
