It's hard. Puppies are just that way. It takes time and patience, but try spraying him with some water, and make sure he doesn't know where it's coming from. He will eventually stop, but I know, puppies are a handful!!

give them a bone

when a puppy bites too hard YELP in a high pitched voice, this mimics other puppy cries and the puppy should immediately let go, stop playing with the puppy when he bites and only play again when the puppy is more gentle, the puppy may also attempt to 'lick you better' after you yelp, this is good behaviour and you should reward them for this.

It's generally accepted by paediatricians that toddlers who bite tend to do so between the ages of 12 months and two and a half years and that they will eventually grow out of it anyway. There is suggestion that a firm "no" or Time Out when the toddler bites should eventually stop this behaviour. There is also a suggestion that ignoring the biter and lavishing attention on the bitee will work. Does anybody know what else to try if both these tactics have been tried with a biting boy now of 18 months for the last six months without success?

Just do what they don't like. For ex. If my gerble bit me I would blow on it and say "no!" Or for a dog, "Bad boy/girl!" It works! Well most of the time...
