I don't know, depends on what you mean by "cool", but there's a variety of pets you can mix with to get different kinds of pets. But you have to raise them all to adult before you mix them in the hatchery.
Another way of getting a pet is by getting it from bosses. For example in triton, in the haunted cave you can get either the dark Sprite or banshee. but neither of these come with cards.
You can also go to the shopping district or pet pavillion and buya pet for gold or crowns. The ones with crowns come with a card.
