Not all Honda Civics come with an alarm but I own a 1997 Honda Civic that came with a remote.
To disarm the alarm on a 1997 Honda Passport, use the keyless entry remote to unlock the doors, which should disable the alarm. If you don't have the remote, inserting the key into the driver's side door lock and turning it to the unlock position should also deactivate the system. If the alarm continues to sound, you can try starting the engine, which may reset the alarm. Finally, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes can serve as a last resort to reset the alarm system.
Take the remote control and insert it in the slot under the steering coulmn . Wait for the alarm sound (deactivates the alarm) and then start the car. The alarm is now deactivated. You need to reactivate the alarm in the same way to have the alarm functional again.
