In free play for iPod/iphone etc, you have to make sure you have updated your game in iTunes. You then carry on progressing through the goals until you get one that says 'Get engaged.' When you receive that goal you buy a ring and propose to the other sim. If they say yes, you get married and then buy a crib, and you have to wait 12 hours for your baby.

My couple are engaged and almost married so I can buy a crib and they can have one
