Turn it clockwise until the retaining tabs unlock- this will be quite difficult and require quite a bit of effort but it can be done by using the electrical connector on the back of the gauge for a grip point.

The speedometer is on the dash like any other car....
it's in the dash, the speedometer cable runs the speedometer and it connects to the back of the speedometer and it runs down to the back of the transmission case.
There is only one speedometer, in the middle of the dash.
If the digital dash lights up but shows no numbers for the speedometer on a 1989 Thunderbird LX, it is possible that a fuse is blown for the speedometer and the fuel gauge. There is more than one light in the dash for the speedometer.
It is in the instrument cluster in the dash.
No, you just have to have a small hand to get in back of the speedometer.
Remove the dash panel cover. Remove the speedometer retaining ring. Remove the cable from the back of the speedometer. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer.
Pretty simple if ur a skidoo guy or just some idiot who rides for fun
There is no fuse just for the speedometer. If the speedometer is not working, you may have a problem in the dash gauges cluster, or a vehicle speed sensor problem.
